PD Dr. Fabian Staubach (PI)
Fabian is an assistant professor in the evolutionary biology and ecology group at Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg. Prior to this position he was a postdoctoral fellow in Dmitri Petrov’s lab at Stanford University. He received his PhD for his work at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology and at the University of Cologne in the lab of Diethard Tautz.
Lena Waidele (PhD student)
Lena received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Biology from the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg. She analyzes how the metagenome contributes to adaptation of lower termites to their environment. Therefore she uses metagenetic, metagenomic, metatranscriptomic and experimental approaches.
Yun Wang (PhD student)
Yun received a B.Sc. degree in bioinformatics from Shanghai Tongji University and his M.Sc. in Biology from the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg. Yun studies the continental scale dynamics of the Drosophila melanogaster microbiome and also performs laboratory experiments to find out how microbes affect Drosophila fitness.
Nurper Alacatli (Master student)
Nurper received her B.Sc. from the Albert Ludwigs University Freiburg. She uses comparatrive genomics and experimental approaches to understand how Drosophila and bacteria interact.
